Colorless, white powder in a pouch
- Bowel cleansing regimen for preparing the
colon endoscopic examination
- Bowel cleansing regimen for preparing the
X-ray examination and abdominal surgery (only for adult)
Pour 1 package of powder into the container
and dissolve them with an adequate amount of water. Fill the container with the
500ml mark with water, shake vigorously several times to ensure that the
ingredients are dissolved and then consume 1 pouch at once, totally 8 pouches.
Use lukewarm water to help the medicine dissolve faster. Chilling improves the
taste, but the chilled solution is not recommended for pediatric patients and
infants.
In general, administrate orally, but may be
given via nasogastric tube to patients who are unwilling or unable to drink the
solution. Patients should fast at least 3~4 hours before administration. No
solid foods should be permitted at least 2 hours before administration.
- Oral administration
Adult patients should rapidly drink each
portion instead of continuously drinking small amounts of it. Administrate at a
rate of 250mL every 10 minutes until the 4 liters are consumed or the rectal
effluent is clear. Pediatric patients (aged 3 years or older) drink at rate of
25mL/kg per hour until the rectal effluent is clear
- Nasogastric tube administration
Adult patients should be administrated at a
rate of 20~30 minutes (1.2~1.8 L/hour). Pediatric patients (aged 3 years or
older) should be administrated at a rate of 25 ml/kg per hour until the rectal
effluents are clear.
The first bowel movement should occur
approximately one hour after the start to drink the solution.
Various regimens could be used. One method
for patients who are scheduled for examination in mid-morning or alter is
allowing the patients to drink for three hours and additional one hour period
for completing bowel evacuation. Another method (especially in the barium enema
examination) is to administer the solution in the evening before the
examination day.
Tightly closed, keep at 1~30℃
